This month-long journey combines historical Turkey with the countries of the Caucasus: Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. These are countries with long and fascinating histories and curious travellers will find a lot on this tour to capture their attention. We see plenty of sights, including the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the battlefields on the Gallipoli Peninsula and the ruins of the lost city of Troy, the colourful Prometheus Caves, Armenia's ancient city of Gyumri and its capital Yerevan, the vast expanse of Lake Sevan, the Gergeti Trinity Church at Stepantsminda, Vardzia Cave Monastery and the otherworldly geological wonder of Cappadocia, to name a few. And at the heart of it all are the welcoming peoples and their cultures and cuisines.
This is an incredible tour for those who love to get off the beaten trail, discover cultural and historical gems and remarkable people. Staying in good hotels, hostels and homestays with some wild camping.
